As a leading educational non-profit, ASPIRA strives to incorporate the latest technology in transforming our schools so that students and youth may become the leaders of tomorrow. When we contacted Cloudbakers in October of 2011, we had just been approved for the Educational Edition of Google Apps. Cloudbakers, in the person of Joe Pusateri, working with our IT team, contributed greatly to the overall success of the effort. Joe's professionalism, patience and experience in the face of unexpected bumps and obstacles, helped keep all on track for a successful, timely transition, even as we adhered to an accelerated timeline. I would not hesitate in recommending Cloudbakers for those businesses/organizations thinking of migrating to Google Apps.

Mitch is a business and technology industry leader who is constantly pushing the leading, but not the bleeding edge. Early on, he realized the huge competitive advantage that cloud computing provides small to medium-sized business in reducing costs, improving operational efficiencies and providing a platform for innovation. Cloud computing effectively liberates a company’s resources and capital that are currently being spent on IT infrastructure and staffing - resources that can instead be used for growth and innovation: imperatives in today’s highly competitive environment.
Mitch’s extensive CIO experience and understanding of the CIO role caused him to develop a passion for the consistency, simplicity and value that cloud computing offers. Recently, as the CIO at a $300M Human Resource company, he researched, experimented and implemented numerous cloud models. Unable to find the solutions he was looking for as a CIO, Mitch realized the need for bringing this technology to other businesses. From this imperative, “cloudbakers” was born.
Mitch has been an active participant of the “growing up” of technology programming mini-computers early in his career that transitioned to PC applications (while they were still in their infancy), to client/server systems, then to web-based environments and infrastructure, and now today to The Cloud. Mitch has a diverse background from writing millions of lines of code, to managing and sponsoring many multi-million dollar projects. His balanced perspective includes product development, operations, consulting as well as executive leadership. Mitch has spoken at many industry events and many of the products and projects he has worked on have won industry awards. He is passionate about applying technology to improve business operations. On a personal note, Mitch is an outdoor enthusiast, an avid cyclist and a fun photographer. He is a devoted husband and father of three. Mitch majored in Math and Biology at the University of Oregon and has taken numerous post-graduate classes in Computer Science and Engineering at MIT, IIT and UIC. Joe has been working with information technology from a multitude of perspectives during his career. He is driven by a need to find a way to make technology work for his customers through integration and automation. Joe’s passion to match the right solution to a need, along with a rich array of programming, IT administration, instructional, business and management skills has led him to step out of the traditional developer/architect role and join cloudbakers to enable companies to move into the Google cloud.
Joe made the transition from standalone PC to client/server development and quickly embraced Java. As a developer, trainer and architect, he has worked with a wide array of business needs and technical solutions, his role typically being to find and then create the right combination of tools and technologies to meet the need.
With the advent of cloud-based computing, Joe quickly started working in MapReduce development and with other cloud-based tools. Joe’s experience as a network administrator and an Identity Management expert in several IdM tools, gives him a broad set of skills with back-end systems and methodologies.
Joe is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He loves to read, study and spend time at home with his wife and kids.
