The Honor of Being a Geek

Have you ever been to a Techie Prom?  How about dancing with the stars? Last week we had our chance! Cloudbakers got down with the i.c.stars in Chicago, celebrating 20 years of growth and transformation.

20th Anniversary & IT prom with i.c.starsHQ’ed in Chicago, we love our community and the talent within. We believe in technology and that access to it allows individuals to transform how they contribute to their community, family & organization. The community came out in force to support i.c.stars, honoring graduates, sponsors and business sponsors.

Focused on their mission, i.c.stars finds talent, trains talent and puts talent to work! Operating in Chicago, Milwaukee and Columbus, i.c.stars provides a rigorous technology-based workforce development and leadership training program for low-income adults, developing Chicagoland’s most promising information technology talent with leadership goals and connecting them with career opportunities through their social enterprise and partner organizations.

How lucky is Cloudbakers to have an i.c.stars Geek Emeritus as our CTO? We knew the answer in our own context, and we learned how integral Eric’s training & leadership was while building i.c.stars with Sandee Kastrul & Leslie Beller.

Each and every ‘baker strives to transform the way our clients interact with technology, and how that technology allows them to work better. As a result of an extremely successful pilot with i.c.stars' efficient and fun on-campus recruitment process with Cycle 43, Cloudbakers is excited to make i.c.stars part of our standard recruiting outreach.

We are continuously impressed with the solution focus, coaching mentality, and authenticity brought to work everyday by i.c.stars alums in the Cloud Computing space. As Brian Alanis, Practice Lead for our Google Cloud G Suite Deployment team said, "My team is coming to High Tea every cycle and we intend to be the employer of choice among all future cycles".
