Thankful for Technology

There’s a lot for me to be thankful for this year. I get to spend the holidays with my family, I'm passionate about my job, and I have a fantastic team at Cloudbakers that motivates me day in and day out.

This time of year, as exciting as it may be, seems to also come with an extra long to-do list. The closer we get to the holidays, the more we have to do in less time, which is why I am also thankful for the ability to work at anytime, from anywhere, on any device. It’s at times like these where that ability is especially helpful and appreciated! Google Apps helps me to be better at my job everyday, whether I work from the office or from home. Here are some of the reasons why:

TTeam-focused. Google Apps for Business provides an easy path for any kind of communication. By a click of a button you can transfer from an email to a chat box, from a chat box to a Google Hangout, and from a Google Hangout open anything in your Google Drive. Working with a team has never been so convenient until now.

UUptime & Reliability.  What do you type into your URL box to see if the internet is working? For me, it’s “Google.com” and that’s how it’s always been. I know that if my internet is working, Google will always be there. If it’s not? Then I go back to my wireless router to fix the real problem at hand! Google Apps for Business is the same way.  Their Service Level Agreement states that the web interface will be “operational and available” 99.9% of the time. Now that’s quality!

RReal-time & Right-time collaboration. Editing in Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and Slides can be done by multiple people all at the same time. No longer do we need to create multiple drafts to reach a final product. Instead, we can finish each others’ sentences and complete projects in a fraction of the time by actually working better together.

KKeep. Google Keep is a pinned tab on my Chrome browser, and on the home screens of both my phone and my tablet.  It allows me to jot down ideas and reminders on the fly, make checklists, and color code for organizational purposes. The best part?  It’s all tucked away safe and sound in my Google Drive.

EEfficiency. Google provides numerous ways for me to be more efficient throughout my day. One of my favorite aspects lies right at the top of my Gmail. Using the search bar to find emails is as powerful as searching for anything imaginable on Google.com. I’ve always been a fan of keeping my emails organized in folders, but now I find myself using the search tool instead, which helps me locate exactly what I’m looking for -- even faster.

YYou! It’s all about you. I am part of a company where the two most important things to us are our people and our clients. At the end of the day, we want our clients to 'Go Google' because we believe wholeheartedly in the platform, the tools, and even in the company itself.  We get satisfaction in giving our clients the ability to experience their job in a way they’ve never been able to before. Technology is truly a powerful way to get your business to the next level.

So there you have it -- my Thanksgiving rendition of my love for Google Apps. What now? Well it’s all spelled out for you, enjoy the TURKEY!
